“Beta Production” of MISS STEP at Village Theatre Feb 11-19
MISS STEP is workshopping at Village Theatre in Issaquah, WA from Feb 11-19. Directed by Connor Gallagher (Beetlejuice on Broadway), and co-choreographed by Laganja Estranja (RuPaul’s Drag Race), with set design by Jason Sherwood (2020 Oscar Awards, Rent Live!), this ‘80s dance aerobics musical, featuring a talented all-trans and non-binary lead cast is going up on its feet for its first workshop production. Interstate’s Los Angeles premiere at East West Players in June 2022
My musical Interstate opened on June 12 at the David Henry Hwang theater at East West Players, the longest running theater of color in the United States. It ran for 3 weekends, closing on June 26, and received positive reviews, with critics calling it a “bold and celebratory new musical”. Learn more about Interstate.
Broadway Records released World Premiere Recording of Songs of the Phoenix
Co-written with Kit Yan, my song “Who Am I?” was included as part of a song cycle Songs of the Phoenix performed by the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus in April 2022. The song cycle, curated by Andrew Lippa and including songs by Stephen Schwartz, Ingrid Michaelson, and Stephen Sondheim, was released by Broadway Records on June 24.
